A few 'new' schemes at Manchester... (30/09/2011)

Today, with full sun all day and tempretures reaching 28-29 degrees as well as the Emirates A380 Rugby World Cup logo jet and Monarch new scheme A321 G-OZBT in again.... A few hours were spent by 23 Right.

The first interesting movement was the Emirates, and although I caught it on its first visit, the weather really made it a much better shot.

After this arrived, we decided to hang around for the new scheme Monarch A321 that was due around an hour and a half later.. During this time the regular traffic was seen, as well as the 'Yes To Europe' Ryanair B737-800.

Not long after, the Monarch landed in the great early afternoon light...

Iron Maiden finally visits MAN ! (29/09/2011)

This morning the Iron Maiden B757-200 G-STRX visited MAN and after a quick dash up to the Tatton Arms, we caught it landing...

It was then due back out at 1800 to Gatwick, so it was down to the Viewing park for a departure shot... However going late (at 1900) meant that it was almost a night shot !!

Lucky that I got it a few times at Palma in great light in May !!! (see trip reports 2011 or special schemes page).

Hajj leases - Garuda at MAN (29/09/2011)

This morning there were a couple of A330 departures out to Indonesia for the Hajj. Seeing they were due to depart at 0900 I went up, thinking I could get to college in time after catching them... However, the Monarch ended up departing at 1020 (college was a 1030 start).... Luckily I still made it on time !

G-OMYT departing out for the Hajj, wearing a different scheme to the Thomas Cook a/c on Hajj last year !

G-EOMA departing out to Larnaca before heading onto Indonesia.... I flew on this a/c back in 2001 a couple of times !

Perfect weather at Manchester ? (28/09/2011)

Today was almost perfect at MAN, with hardly a cloud in the sky all day, as well as a few interesting arrivals !! Here are the more 'interesting' movements.

Up early morning at the Tatton Arms for this arrival from the Middle East...

On our way to the 23 Left spot, we were driving back past the Tatton Arms and knew the Small Planet was due in.... Switched the scanner on and he was the first thing to call up on the approach !

A few hours were then spent at the 23 Left spot, and we were rewarded with the Star Alliance United B757-200 taxiing out.

A mad dash to 23 Right after switching departure runways meant we just about caught the Hello A320 going out !!

And this was closely followed by the Atlas Air departing after a short turnround.

An hour and a half late, this then departed (I have been after a full scheme shot of this for a while!)

Todays TAP flight was operated by Portugalia, with a FK.100 being sent in.

This was then followed by the Hello A320 departing again..

First Brussels Airlines A330-200.... (15/09/2011)

Today the first Brussels Airlines A330-200 departed after being painted by Air Livery.. Not often you get good weather for a movement, although its early departure meant on take off the sun hadn't fully moved around !!

Football Charters at MAN (14/09/2011)

Today we had a few of the usual football visitors, as well as a couple of interesting movements. As per usual, on a day with a few movements the weather was awful ! But here is a selection from the day.

SX-MTF visited in the early morning, believed to taking Stoke FC out to Kiev for a Europa Cup game.

The above Three were bringing fans in for the Manchester City Champions League game against Napoli.
